Princess Joybelle
The first Christmas Pantomime was called “Princess Joybelle”, broadcast live to air in December 1957. Only a few relics of this production remain — a photo or two and some notes in Denzil Howson’s memoirs. Although a film recording was made, its whereabouts are unknown.
Synopsis
No written or film record of this production remains. Ernie Carroll was cast as the King, father of Princess Joybelle, but he took ill on the day before and Denzil Howson had to play the part instead.
